Scientific Article Retraction Policy and Procedure
This procedure has been adopted in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
The withdrawal of a scientific article text (retraction) is a mechanism for correcting published information and alerting readers that the article contains serious flaws or erroneous data that cannot be trusted. The primary goal is to ensure the integrity of scientific information.
Grounds for Retraction
The main reason for retraction is a violation of the ethical principles of the Journal for Veterinary Medicine, Biotechnology and Biosafety:
- Presence of unlawful text borrowings (plagiarism) in a significant volume;
- Redundant publication (duplication) of the article in several journals;
- Detection of data fabrication or falsification;
- Serious errors (e.g., misinterpretation) that cast doubt on the scientific value of the work;
- Incorrect authorship or undisclosed conflict of interest;
- Republication of the article without the author's consent.
Retraction Procedure
Initiators: authors, Editor-in-Chief, Editorial Board, reviewers, readers, or institutions where the research was conducted.
- The decision is made by the Editorial Board upon the recommendation of the Editor-in-Chief.
- If the author is the initiator, they must provide a reasoned explanation of the cause. The editorial office may suggest publishing a correction (erratum) or performing a full retraction.
- Editorial Board meetings take place on the last Wednesday of the month. The review period is up to 35 calendar days.
- If the authors ignore the editorial office's inquiry regarding detected violations, the editorial office reserves the right to carry out the retraction independently.
- A watermark or label «RETRACTED» with the date is applied to the electronic version of the text. The article itself remains in the archive to ensure transparency.
Mandatory Data in the Retraction Protocol:
- • Author's full name and article title
- • Journal title, volume, issue, and year of publication
- • Initiator and reasoned grounds for retraction
- • Link to the page containing retraction information
- • Article bibliographic data and DOI
Consequences and Rights of the Parties
Consequences:
- The retracted article remains in the archive with a corresponding notice.

Authors have the right to:
- Receive a detailed justification for the decision.
- Submit an appeal to the Editor-in-Chief within 14 days.
